For men and families in Vancouver and across British Columbia who are considering a residential stay away from home, here is what the 12 Lodge Method in Ottawa would involve.
Some men choose residential care far from home so they can step away from familiar pressures and routines. 12 Lodge Wellness is a single residence on the Rideau River in Ottawa, Ontario, planned to open in 2027. It has no B.C. location. An enquiry can help you explore suitability before you think about flights or time away.
The 12 Lodge Method brings Reset, Balance and Wellness together through individual counselling, groups, family participation and continuing-care planning. The planned all-male residence has capacity for 10 residents.

Ottawa is a cross-country flight from Vancouver, so plan for travel time, the time-zone change and family participation from a distance. Ask your benefits provider about private out-of-province residential care; do not assume B.C. public coverage or workplace benefits will pay the published rates.
12 Lodge will not initially offer in-house medical detox. Any required withdrawal management must be completed with appropriate providers before residential admission. Do not travel on the assumption that an enquiry confirms a place or an arrival date.
Review eligibility and the application processYour return-home plan can include approved outside practitioners near you, alongside remote Lodge continuation sessions through myLodge. Included after successful completion: 20 one-hour therapy sessions with an approved outside practitioner within three months of discharge, plus twelve Lodge continuation sessions (one one-hour video appointment through myLodge with your chosen Lodge counsellor each month for twelve months), twelve months of structured online groups and lifetime digital Haven access. All outside practitioners require approval; other services have their own access and costs.
